BSF Head Constable Syllabus, Exam Pattern, and Salary

BSF  (Border Security Force) has recently announced the Recruitment notification to fill up vacancies for Head Constable posts. So here we are with the BSF Head Constable Syllabus, Exam Pattern, and Salary information.

The Main Border Defence Organization in India is BSF or Border Security Force.

It is one of the seven Central Armed Police Forces in India. In the year 1965 on the 1st of December after the 1965 War BSF was established to ensure safety and security at the Indian Borders.

Eligible applicants who wish to join Border Security Force and waiting for BSF Head Constable  2020 recruitment is an opportunity for all those.

This exam pattern information will help the applicants to prepare for the exam in a planned and systematic manner.

BSF Head Constable Recruitment Exam consists of 3 phases :

  •  Written Test/Objective (OMR Based in MCQ Format)
  • PST, PET & Documentation and Descriptive Written Test
  • Final Medical Examination.

PHASE I :

This objective/MCQ exam will be of 3 hours and there will be 100 questions for 200marks. The whole paper will be divided into 4 sections as per below :

Key points :

  • The test syllabus will be according to the 10+2/State Boards of Education/Intermediate of CBSE.
  • Every multiple-choice question is composed of 2 marks and there is also negative marking i.e. 0.5 marks will be deducted for every wrong answer.
  • One OMR based composite paper will be there consisting of above mentioned four sections.
  •  The question paper will be in dual language i.e. both in English as well as Hindi.

Note: – Request for the re-evaluation of OMR sheets will not be accepted.

  • Duplicate OMR sheet attached to the main OMR sheet is allowed to be carried by the candidates to take with themself.
  • The answer key will be uploaded on the BSF  official website after the examination.
  • The result of the objective test qualified candidates shall be announced by uploading it on the official website.
  • Further information will be intimated through e-mail/ SMS shall to all qualified candidates for appearing in the Descriptive Test.

PHASE II :

This phase is divided into two parts:

  • Physical Efficiency Test (PET), Physical Standard Test (PST),  & Documentation 
  •  Descriptive Written Test

 PST, PET & Documentation:

All the candidates appearing in this stage must have to qualify the PST/PET and documentation to go forward in the next stage i.e. Descriptive test.

 Descriptive Written Test :

  • Candidates must have to qualify a descriptive test during this stage.

Note:

For BSF Serving Personnel – From PST/PET the departmental candidate shall be excluded. However, they have to appear for Phase II recruitment only for Documentation and descriptive test.

PHASE III:

Final medical examination :

The medical standards are given below:

(i) Without any correction Without wearing glasses, the minimum distant vision should be 6/6 and 6/9 of both eyes.

(ii) Must pass a high-grade color vision test.

(iii) Must not have flat feet knock-knees, or varicose vein, or squint in eyes and they should possess CP-III BY ISHIHARA.

(iv) Must have sound mental and bodily health and free from any defect/deformity which is likely to interfere with the efficient performance of the duties.

Note: In the case of BSF Serving Personnel :

Must contain the medical category ‘SHAPE-I’.

Issued  & Present by their appointing authority, BSF Serving Constable (GD) & Constable (TM) should be in possession of Disc/Vigilance clearance certificate, Bio-data, as well as NOC, Medical Category – SHAPE -1 issued by the Medical Officers of concerned Units/HQrs prior to the dosing date of online applications.

Note:

Procedure for drawl of merit in case of a tie:

I) Candidates who score more marks in total will be placed higher in merit.

ii) In case the scores are equal then candidates who score more marks in screening tests (MCQ exam) will be placed higher in merit.

iii) If in all conditions as mentioned above, the position is still the same then preference will be given to the candidates older in age.

iv) If all conditions as mentioned above, the position is still the same, the preference will be given alphabetically.

v) If any candidate of reserved category finds a place in merit without availing any relaxation, he/she will be placed in merit against the Unreserved category.
