1-Govt. to enhance the public health expenditure to 2.5% of GDP by 2025.

In meeting with the 15th finance commission the union health minister Harsh Vardhan highlighted that the govt aims to gradually increase the public health expenditure to 2.5% of gross domestic product(GDP) by 2025.

2-Hyderabad airport introduces India’s first completely contactless car parking facility Amid pandemic.

The GMR Hyderabad International Airport(GHIAL) has introduced India’s first fully contactless airport car parking facility due to the current COVID-19 pandemic crisis.

3-IIT Kanpur develops UV sanitizing device ‘SHUDH’ to disinfect room in 15 mins.

A team of engineers at IIT Kanpur has developed an Ultraviolet(UV) sanitizing product named SHUDH, which is capable to disinfect, a 10 sqft room in about 15 minutes.

4-IIT Kanpur incubated start-ups develop smart water quality testing device ‘PADMAVATI’.

2 of the IIT Kanpur incubated start-ups namely earth face analysis & Kritsnam technologies Pvt. Ltd. Have developed a device, named as Padmavati, to analyse and monitor the quality of water.

1-NABARD launched development projects worth Rs 44 lakhs in Andaman and Nicobar Islands.

National bank for agriculture and rural development(NABARD) set in motion development projects of Rs 44 lakhs in Andaman and Nicobar Islands to strengthen the Atmanirbhar Bharat initiation through rural entrepreneurship.

1-The committee to protect journalists announced 2020 International Press Freedom Awardees.

The committee to protect journalists(CPJ) has announced that 4 journalists, Shahidul Alam from Bangladesh, Mohammad Mosaed from Iran, Dapo Olorunyomi from Nigeria and Svetlana Prokopyeva from Russia will be honoured with the 2020 International Press Freedom Awards for their courageous act.

Acquisitions and mergers

1-CCI approved the acquisition of up to 58.92% stake in healthcare Global Enterprises Limited by Aceso.

The committee commission of India (CCI) approved the acquisition of up to 58.92% stake by Aceso Company Pte.Ltd(Aceso) in Healthcare Global Enterprise Limited(HCG), under section 31(1) of the competition act,2002.


1-Cartoonist Avad Bin Hassan Jami passes away.

Renowned cartoonist Avad Bin Hassan Jami, popularly known as ‘Jami’ passed away at the age of 77 years in Jamnagar, Gujarat. for more than two decades, his cartoons were published in leading Gujrati daily newspaper and news magazines.

2-Maharashtra’s first woman election commissioner, Neela Satyanarayan, passes away at 72.

Former 1972 batch IAS officer and Maharashtra’s first woman state election Commissioner (SEC) Neela Satyanarayan has passed away after she was diagnosed with COVID-19. She was 72.
