It is celebrated three days ; The first day is Holi purnama/ Moon full day. Second day is choti Holi , people enjoy choti Holi with bonfire and the third day is Parva , the day of Holi celebration. In this day , People play and enjoy with colour and spread colour on everyone and everywhere. People even cook delicious meals and luxuriate with alternative peoples. Some also sing and dances with one another. People will wear new clothes and distribute sweets among friends and relatives. People smeared and colored powders known as Abeer or ‘Gulal’ on the faces of all together with, wealthy or poor.
Holi is a festival stands as a festivals to get rid of evil and introduce the ‘good’. People try to forgetting their previous malice and meet with each other, and Bade good wishes. It will brings people closer and teaches them to live in happiness. It cross the gaps between the made and also the poor. Every festival reunites the members of the family, and Holi will do the same. Holi, is all about fun. Holi also helps the people to unite together and share their feelings. Holi also tells people who its the tip of winter and start of spring and believe of God.
The history of this festival is based on the boy named prahalad who is devoted to God and his sister Holika . He was a son of king Hiranya Kashyap , it’s thought that he had blessing from Lord Brahma . This blessings meant no man , no animal , or weapon might kill them. The bleesing change into curse for him as he became very chesty. He ordered his kingdom to worship him rather than God.
According to this order, all the people began worshipping him except for his son, Prahlad. Prahlad was refused to worship his father instead of God as he was a true believer of Lord Vishnu. After seeing , his disobedience, the devil king planned with his sister to kill Prahlad. He made her sit in the fire with his son on the lap, where Holika, got burned and Prahlad came out safe. This indicated he was protected by his Lord because of his devotion. Thus, people started celebrating Holi as the victory of good over evil.
It provide coordination and offer new energy among kids and other people. It encourage them to involve in a full of life work . It is the simplest way to forget the sad days of the past and begin new motivated days. The best part of Holi festival is that people who belong to any age can enjoy this festival. It is one of the important festivals of the Hindus. It is important because it unites all the members and promotes social harmony among the individuals, the people feel refreshed and may continue their lives during a new approach. The festival of colour maintains social unity during a family society and a community.
